Generoso and Lily’s Bovine Ska and Rocksteady: Jackie Brown’s Cash Label 9-11-18

Hello Bovine Ska and Rocksteady Listeners!
We started off this week’s Bovine Ska and Rocksteady with some trombone-heavy Jamaican rhythm and blues singles to get you dancing from the top. For our mento set, we began with a tribute to Louise Simone Bennett-Coverley OM, OJ, MBE better known as Miss Lou, who was just honored with a statue in Gordon Town, Jamaica. As today is Sept 11th, we also gave our respect to Peter Tosh who was murdered on this day in 1987 during a robbery at his home. For our label spotlight we looked at singer/producer, Jackie Brown’s CASH LABEL. Amazingly produced cuts by Ronnie Davis and Michael Carr.
