Generoso and Lily’s Bovine Ska & Rocksteady was established in the summer of 1996 at WMBR Radio, 88.1FM in Cambridge, MA. The focus of the show is on early rare Jamaican music recordings from the inception of the Jamaican recording business in 1955 (mento) through the Jamaican R&B era, ska, rocksteady & the earliest recordings of the reggae era (1968-1975).

Over the years many legendary Jamaican artists have graced our program for interviews and performances such as Laurel Aitken, Ken Boothe, Derrick Harriott, BB Seaton, Stranger Cole, Roy and Yvonne, Owen Gray, Lord Tanamo, Big Youth, Derrick Morgan, Jimmy Cliff, Toots Hibbert, and Prince Buster.

Beginning in 2012, Lily Fierro became the permanent co-host of the show, and she brings a wealth of knowledge to our spotlight segments.

In June of 2015, the Bovine Ska and Rocksteady moved to Mixcloud where it has remained since.
