Hello Bovine Ska and Rocksteady Friends,

Sorry for the long break between shows, but regrettably, our computer which records our program failed on us and had to be replaced. Sadly, during this long absence, we lost the brilliant talents of Donald “Tabby” Shaw and Fitzroy “Bunny” Simpson. Bunny and Tabby, along with Lloyd “Judge” Ferguson founded one of the finest vocal groups in Jamaican music history, The Mighty Diamonds, who for over five decades recorded and performed together. In their honor during the second hour of this show, we put together a spotlight of the label they founded, Bad Gong, which features many wonderful cuts by the Mighty Diamonds, but also highlights their production of songs by: Ranking Joe, Dave Robinson, Bongo Herman, and many more. We send our deepest respects to Bunny’s and Tabby’s families as well as Judge and the many artists whom the Diamonds worked with over their storied career. Rest in power. Generoso and Lily
