Hello Bovine Ska and Rocksteady Listeners
On August 16th, the same day that we lost The Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, we were given the sad news that Count Prince Miller had also passed away. With great respect, we started this week’s show off with a reggae tribute to Aretha by playing four Jamaican covers of songs that she made legendary which we hope you’ll love. We then dedicated the entire second hour of this week’s show to actor, singer, producer, Count Prince Miller. We began the memorial with the Count’s earliest recordings as a member of doo-wop group, The Downbeats and then as a member of The Vagabonds. We then played some of Miller’s most audacious solo recordings, as well as his productions in the UK for singers: Jackie Edwards, Tony Gregory, The Banana Boys and Errol Daniels. Rest in power Count and Queen. XO Generoso and Lily
