Hello Bovine Ska and Rocksteady Listeners!
This week’s show has been many years in the making as we all love Otis Redding and his profound influence was also felt in Jamaica. From ska to rocksteady to reggae, Jamaican artists have done their best versions of songs written by the great singer/songwriter from Macon, Georgia. We gathered our favorite version of songs written and made famous by Otis and are presenting them to you on this week’s show. Prince Buster’s ska version of Otis’ “Respect,” Dave Barker’s reggae version of “Mr. Pitiful,” and The Heptones rocksteady version of “Dock Of The Bay”, are just a few of the standouts that you’ll hear this week.
