Generoso and Lily’s Bovine Ska and Rocksteady: Tommy Cowan’s Sweet City Label 11-19-19

Howdy Bovine Ska and Rocksteady Friends,

A set of super fast ska is how we began this week’s Bovine Ska which has a great one at the top from 1965 from The Monarchs on Kentone entitled, “All of Me!’ Our mento set started off with the classic, “Daisy’ by Lord Composer from his classic ‘Songs From The Caribbean’ LP. Our first hour ended with a selection of reggaes from Lily that featured a gem from Keith Hudson from 1974, ‘Talk Some Sense.’ This week’s label spotlight is the third one that we’ve done from Tommy Cowan here on the Bovine Ska as we looked at Cowan’s SWEET CITY label. In his honor, this spotlight included solo cut from Cowan’s bandmate from The Jamaicans’ Norris Weir, who passed away one year ago yesterday. Be strong and stay warm friends XO Generoso and Lily
