Hello Bovine Ska and Rocksteady Listeners,
It is with deep sadness that we must inform you of the passing of Nambo Robinson, who played trombone on a countless number of records throughout reggae. He passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at his home in St. Andrew. Nambo was a member of the Mystic Revelation of Rastafari. The group had two primary leaders, Count Ossie and Cedric Im Brooks; Count Ossie led the percussion section, and Brooks led the horn section that Robinson was a part of. Over the next forty years, Nambo would perform on over 500 LPs, some of these recordings being amongst the most iconic in Jamaican music history. We played tracks from Nambo when he was a member of the Mystic Revelation of Rastafari as well as solo recordings and tracks from the artists he played behind like Dennis Brown, Bunny Wailer, The Heptones, Culture, and more. Rest in peace Nambo. XO Generoso and Lily
