Hello Bovine Ska and Rocksteady Listeners,
Just a day after we lost the great trombonist, Nambo Robinson, legendary singer, Ronnie Davis, passed away after suffering a stroke at the Savanna-la-Mar Hospital in his native Westmoreland. We honored Nambo last week with a spotlight, and we do so this week for Ronnie by examining his storied solo career which began in 1972 and continued through to last year when he released his solo album, Iyahcoustic. For his memorial, we examined his solo work and played cuts from the years (1972-1976) and we also selected songs from when Ronnie was a member of the seminal vocal groups, The Tennors and The Itals. Thank you for the beautiful music Ronnie, and rest in peace. XO Generoso and Lily
