Generoso and Lily’s Bovine Ska and Rocksteady: Lloyd Daley’s Mistic Label 7-25-17

Hello Bovine Ska and Rocksteady listeners!

We start off this week’s show with two sets of rare ska, beginning with a tribute to the father of the zombie film, George A Romero, who passed away on July 16th. In Romero’s honor, we played Lloyd Clarke’s 1966 cut, “Living Among The Dead,” which we hoped he would’ve loved. After our mento set, we put together a long reggae set and a tribute to another Hollywood legend, the great actor Martin Landau, who we honored by spinning Randy’s All-Stars version of the theme from Mission Impossible, the show Landau helped make famous. Our spotlight is on the lloyd “The Matador” Daley’s Mistic Label…Amazing productions from The Matador features vocals from Dennis Brown, Freddie McKay, Little Roy and I-Roy! Please add our show to your playlist here on Mixcloud and share it wherever you see fit. XO Generoso and Lily
