Hello Bovine Ska and Rocksteady Friends,

Sadly, one day after we heard the news of the passing of Winston Samuels, we received word that the great Studio One vocalist, Larry Marshall had also left us. Marshall passed away on August 24th at the age of 75 in Florida, where he had lived since the 1990s. As we have often said during the past two decades on the Bovine Ska, Larry Marshall remains as one of the most underrated singers in Jamaican music history. At the halfway point of this week’s program, we will spotlight Larry’s extensive career as a singer, and we also looked at his wonderful production work for his labels: Amanda and Marshall.
