Generoso and Lily’s Bovine Ska and Rocksteady: Byron Smith’s Baron’s Label 2-20-18

Welcome Bovine Ska and Rocksteady Listeners!

It is quite cold here out west and we know that the east coast has gotten some snow so we hope this week’s show warms us all up! We started off with two sets of ska, beginning with Joe White’s 1963 cut for Dutchess, Maybe One. We of course followed with our weekly mento set, and then a long set of rocksteady before going into a spotlight of Byron Smith’s underappreciated BARON’S LABEL! That means great reggae cuts from 1969 to 1974 from: Linval Thompson, Wilburn Theodore Cole, Dennis Alcapone, Nora Dean and many more! PLEASE ADD OUR SHOW TO YOUR PLAYLIST HERE ON MIXCLOUD or share wherever people want to hear the beautiful sounds of a young Jamaica! XOXO Generoso and Lily
