Hello Bovine Ska and Rocksteady Listeners!
We started off this week’s show with two sets of rare 1966 ska, that smooth ska that was right on the cusp of rocksteady, beginning with Prince Buster’s cut, “Festival March.” This week’s mento set has three amazing covers of American folk tracks like “If I Had A Hammer,” which we then followed with a long reggae set selected by Lily. Our second hour starts with our spotlight on the rare Jamaican Gospel imprint, SOULS STIRRING. Though it is a shorter than regular spotlight as singles were tougher than normal to find, there are some wonderfully produced cuts that we know you will enjoy. PLEASE ADD OUR SHOW TO YOUR PLAYLIST HERE ON MIXCLOUD or share wherever people want to hear the beautiful sounds of a young Jamaica! XOXO Generoso and Lily
