Hello Bovine Ska and Rocksteady Listeners!

Our radio show for this week is now up, two days late but it’s here! The heat kicked our equipment silly for a couple of days, but it stayed cool for us to give you the cool sounds of a young Jamaica. Our label spotlight on this week’s show is on Alvin Ranglin’s superb, TYPHOON LABEL, which features top tunes from The Maytones, U-Roy, and Dennis Alcapone! We began the show with a set dedicated to our dearest friend, author, music journalist, film-maker, Barbara Makeda Blake Hannah, who will be presented with the Jamaican O.D. (Order of Distinction). We also paid our respects to Third World’s, Irvin ‘Carrot’ Jarrett, and record distributor, Neville Lee, who both passed last week.
