Hello Bovine Ska and Rocksteady Friends,

We began this week’s Bovine Ska Radio Show by sharing sad news, as legendary singer and co-founder of the seminal vocal group, The Jamaicans, Pastor Dr. Norris Weir passed away on Friday evening. We send our deepest condolences to the Pastor’s wife, Fay, their family, and all of his colleagues and friends. In tribute to the Pastor, we started this week’s show with a set of Norris’ best work as both a solo artist and member of The Jamaicans. For our label spotlight this week, we focused on Hubert Cunningham’s Lord Cunningham Label, which features a rare mix of mento, Gospel, and reggae cuts from such artists as Max Romeo, Barrington Spence and Hubert himself.
