Hi Bovine Ska and Rocksteady Listeners!
We started off this week’s show with two sets of Jamaican ska that feature covers of songs that you wouldn’t imagine sounding that good in a ska rhythm, like Doris Day’s “Everybody Loves A Lover,” and Eydie Gormé’s “Melody D’ Amour,” but we love them so here they are! After our mento set and a long set of killer rocksteady, you get our spotlight. Our spotlight is a short but good one on the extremely rare Buzza Shack Label that has some killer cuts from 1971-72 from Hortense Ellis and a very young Dr. Alimantado! We ended the show with a massive and fantastic set of reggae cuts selected by Lily that are heavy on guitar in honor of Dick Dale. Please add this show to your playlist, favorite it, or share it wherever people love the sounds of a young Jamaica. XXOO Generoso and Lily
