Generoso and Lily’s Bovine Ska and Rocksteady: Phillip Monroe’s Sounds Of Muzik Label 3-26-19

Howdy Bovine Ska and Rocksteady Listeners!
This week we started off with two set of Jamaican rhythm and blues beginning with Eric Monty Morris’s 1961 cut for Buster, “Say That You Love Me.” A boisterous mento set followed the R&B and then a long set of reggae and a musical tribute to independent cult film director, Larry Cohen who sadly passed away this weekend at the age of 77. Our spotlight this week is on the short-lived reggae label, Sounds of Musik, that features great rare cuts from Alton Ellis, Gregory Issacs, and Winston Scotland. Please add this show to your playlist, favorite it, or share it wherever people love the sounds of a young Jamaica. XXOO Generoso and Lily
