Hello Bovine Ska and Rocksteady Listeners!

As a proud South Philadelphian, Generoso has played disco as the background music for the Bovine Ska since its inception in 1996 at WMBR in Cambridge, and that is why we find it amazing that we have never done an entire show where Jamaican artists cover the songs of the Philadelphia International Records label. Yes, this week you will hear the likes of The Heptones, Marcia Griffiths, Ken Boothe, and Dillinger covering the hits and rarities of Harold Melvin and The Blue Notes, The O’Jays, Billy Paul, Lou Rawls, Jean Carn and so many more from the legendary label that brought disco to the world.
