Generoso and Lily’s Bovine Ska and Rocksteady: DC Anderson’s Anderson Label 7-4-17

Happy 4th of July Bovine Ska and Rocksteady listeners!

For those of you who live in the States, we wish you a happy and safe 4th of July! We begin this week’s program by wishing a happy birthday to two true pioneers of Jamaican music, Rupie Edwards and Owen Gray by playing cuts by them as part of our opening sets of early 60s, JA rhythm and blues. In the final set of the first hour, Lily went wild finding superb reggae versions of The Four Tops 1972 hit, That’s The Way Nature Planned It by Ken Boothe and Delroy Wilson. Our label spotlight this week is of the rare DC Anderson ska and reggae label, ANDERSON which contains smartly produced cuts from The Leaders, Stranger and Gladdy, and The Tropic Shadows. Let us know what you think of the show and please add our show to your playlist here on Mixcloud and share it wherever you see fit. XOXO Generoso and Lily
