Hello Bovine Ska and Rocksteady listeners!
Hope that you all had a wonderful Jamaica Independence Day! On this week’s Bovine Ska and Rocksteady, Lily and I begin with two sets of chunky, version to version heavy reggae from 1971-78. Our mento set this week features a recently acquired MRS label cut that we have never played before, from our favorite mento artist, Count Lasher. We end the first hour with a long set of rare rocksteadys before going into our spotlight of Ewan McDermott’s Jolly Label. Only one ska tune on Jolly, with the rest being sensational rocksteadys and reggaes. Please add our show to your playlist here on Mixcloud and share it wherever you see fit. We’ll be back next week as always! XO Generoso and Lily
