Generoso and Lily’s Bovine Ska and Rocksteady: Ranny Williams’ Spade Label 1-16-18

Hello Bovine Ska and Rocksteady Listeners!

We started off this week’s Bovine Ska and Rocksteady with two sets of ska, beginning with Stranger Cole and Patsy Todd’s 1965 joyous cut for Buster’s Voice of the People Label, “When I Realize.” The weekly mento set followed with another wonderful track from the Falconaires 1963 LP on RCA, and then a long set of smoking hot reggae from Lily that should get you in the mood for this week’s spotlight on Ranny Williams’ Spade label. We played eleven cuts from artists on Spade: Charlie Ace. The Harmonians, Count Sticky and Ranny’s own Hippy Boys! PLEASE SHARE our show where you can, and we will see you next Tuesday, as always! XO Generoso and Lily
