Hello Bovine Ska and Rocksteady Listeners!
On this week’s show we begin with two sets of tasty ska, including one of our favorites from Jackie Opel, “King Liges,” which Jackie recorded for Coxsone in 1963. A bouncy mento set followed and a long set of reggae specially selected by Lily which led up to our spotlight on Gussie Clarke’s GUSSIE PUPPY LABEL. An early imprint for Gussie that features top reggae from 1973-78 from The Heptones, Horace Andy, and The Crown Prince of Reggae, Dennis Emmanuel Brown. If you listen and liked it, please add this show to your playlist, favorite it, or share it wherever people love the sounds of a young Jamaica. XOXO Generoso and Lily
