Hello Bovine Ska and Rocksteady Listeners,

Last week we read the sad news posted by the great Baba Brooks that foundation trombonist, Ronald Wilson, passed away on July 4th. Over the 22 years of our radio show we have on multiple occasions spotlighted Wilson’s vastly underrated work as a trombonist. For this week’s show we memorialized Ronald Wilson as we looked back on his illustrious career as a member of The Upcoming Willows, The King Edwards All Stars, The Comets, The Jets, The Upsetters and as a solo artist and producer. We send our deepest sympathies to Ronald’s family, to Baba Brooks and to all of his colleagues whom he performed with, and to all of the music students whom Ronald instructed while teaching in the New York Public School system for twenty years. Rest in peace Ronald.
